On what was a very pleasant evening, both weather wise and members wise (with our A team also playing) and with some local residents watching for some length of time the whole feeling was that something was “happening”.
This was a very competent overall performance against a team that was in second place in the table.
On Mike Roth’s rink with Steve, Mario and Collete, they went into a commanding 15-3 lead, were pegged back to 16-9, regrouped and winning the last 3 ends won 23-9 👏
On Kev’s rink with Paul, Bruce and Colin, started well but then dropped 4 ends on the trot to go behind 6-12. Winning the next 6 out of 7 ends, the overall game looked winnable, just had to get the winning rink 2 points, which we managed and ran out 21-18. 👍
Over on Keith William’s rink, with Keith skipping for the first time this season and making an excellent job of it (as suspected), joined by Karen, Richard and Angela, were only in front for 1 end but went into the last needing a 4 to win or a 3 to tie. With some clever bowling, we “sneaked” a 3 to tie 18-18 and got that extra point-they all help! 💪 The whole rink had some great bowls, but I watched and for at least the second week running, AngeIa was bowling like a pro, she clearly is becoming a very, very good lead. (Editor’s Note: Do I need to be worried? 😃 )
