Four cup games this week and two wins, plus two league wins,ย a reasonable week’s work at the “bowls factory” – I would suggest?
Editor’s Note: Some of us would have liked a full house but as you say, I guess “reasonable” is a good description.
This victory puts us into the quarter finals with a game against Victory Park, from Stroud, Friday 8th at home (last year we were losing semi finalists in this competition) ๐
Editor’s Note: Obviously “Editor’s Notes” are like buses, none for ages then two come along at once – Victory Park definitely won’t like our green as theirs is traditionally really fast, so we have the advantage from the get go ๐
On Jim’s rink with Will, Larry and Jake (see below) they powered ahead to go 16 4 up, conceded a 4 to possibly make things more interesting, but got a second wind to end 26 11 ๐
And this was achieved without the help of a “certain person “who may be under the impression that without that “certain person” this rink may not be succesfull, this “certain person” will remain nameless!
Editor’s Note: Three Editor’s Notes in one report, unprecedented! I prefer “special one” to “certain person” as it is more accurate ๐ and for general info I was on trainee guide-dog sitting duties as Juliet is away for the w/end; but we did come to watch/support for half an hour ๐ โค๏ธ ๐
On Keith’s rink with MarkP, Vince and Nick a fairly even start led to level pegging at 8 ends but then they fired up to win the bulk of the remaining ends (including a 4 and 5 ) to finish 21 11 ๐
On Josh’s rink with Roger, Kev and Mark D (Mark having a very good game ๐) it was always close but with the shot advantage of the other 2 rinks close was good enough and we ran out 16 13 ๐
Well done all, the end of a very busy bowls week- only 3 team games next week- so we can have a bit of a rest?! ๐ช๐ณ
